Counting laps…

Lately i’ve been swimming a lot. I’m always busy counting laps, but I often lose count. So I started to search for something that would  count my laps. I’ve found a few possibilities :

Option 1 : Lap Counter

Pretty basic: put it around your finger and click everytime you turn. Not bad, but you can easily forget clicking and the device looks pretty stupid.

Option 2:

This looks better! Press it everytime you make a turn. But if you do a tumble turn and you press firmly against the border with your feet, I guess it would break. The thing isn’t so easy to aim at with your feet neither…

Option 3:Speedo 150 lap watch

This looks very nice, but clicking the button with your contralateral arm every turn isn’t very practically neither…

Option 4 : Pool-Mate by Swimovate : http://www.swimovate.com

I think this is the best option: the watch has accelerometers that automatically count strokes (yay, the only one who can do this) and laps! No more clicking buttons, no more counting! But it has to be accurate! According to the site it has a 99,75% accuracy… I’m realy keen to try this one out but it is also the most expensive option (£77, €88 incl. shipping), so I’m not sure yet.
