Pathology
Today was D-day: pathology exam!
Three professors, three parts.
First part of the most notorious: Prof. P.
Really working against the clock, the typical thing you can expect from him, but I did a fairly good job I guess.
Second part from Prof. G was as always not too hard.
Third part from Prof. M was also kinda easy, but recognizing all those pathologies on histology slides.. Not so easy!
After all I did a pretty good job, ‘ve got to ‘defend’ this on wednesday at prof. P’s office, maybe he’ll ask something to give me an extra (or less) point. And that’s when he’ll tell me how I did it, so now we play the waiting game.

Progress
Time for the first update of the final exams 09.
Everything going pretty smooth until now. I’ve been busy with Pathology for 1,5 week and I’m really diggin’ it. Too bad that the syllabus is VUB-style again, totally crap/chaos that means. Well yeah, I’ve done my ‘research’ and now my syllabus is looking good. Ready to study it. I’ve got one more week before Pathology exam: 8th of June at 9 am. This time next week, I’ll be a little more stressed I guess.
Putting pathology a side for the last time now, switching to Semeiology for the night and tomorrow I’m switching to 5th gear for some thorough Pathology!
To all my colleagues: good luck!

Hypothesis
Great day! Listening to 28 boring presentations! BLEH. Totally tired now, time for a couch evening and an early bed. What’s on the telly?

Booom!
Ahaa !
Finally my exams are done!
I just had my last one: Pathophysiology of the lungs and heart, and I must say; if you ask the same questions as the last year, it ain’t too difficult….
O yea, by the way, I also got 2 more points :
Genetics = 19/20
Microbiology (love) = 18/20
Boeya! I can’t express how happy I am now, only one point to go (today’s exam, but that should be 19 or 20…..).
So basically, it’s al over and my lowest point is a 17 ??!!!
Woehoew, I’m off to Alpe d’Huez now!!!!!

Busy!
Wow!
I was soo busy studying, I totally forgot to blog!
We’ve got some catching up to do!
12/01 Pharmacology
Exam went pretty good, was not that hard and I already got the result : 17 for theory (guess I was being too much to the point…) and 19 for exercises, what brings me to an even 17. Don’t get me started about the fact that the exercises count for that less! Even worse, a person X has 17 and 18,5 and she gets 18!!
How’s that freaking possible?
Nevertheless, 17 is a good result.
15/01 Physiology
Exam looked very hard at first, but apparently I did a very good job (after correcting some of the multiple choice questions): I got a 19 (endocrine) and a 17,50 (kidney)… Now I knew for sure I had nothing wrong for that second point (kidney), so I kindly asked to review that point. Indeed, it was a mistake and i got a nice 20!
That makes Bram : 2 VUB : 0
20/01 Microbiology
Aha! My favorite! I studied and studied and I really haven’t studied that hard in my life and I’ve never known a course this well.
But the exam wasn’t difficult at all!! Really disappointing if you spend hours and hours studying… Oh well, no result yet, but it will be good (unless I’m being too much to the point, AGAIN..)
23/01 Medical Genetics
This was today, I studied kinda hard, even though I knew the exam wasn’t hard, based on the questions of the last years. But I didn’t want to take the risk.
The exam hasn’t changed luckily, still the same kind of questions and I think I got all the multiple choice questions right and most of the normal questions too…
About that ‘being too much to the point’ stuff: I really hate it that you’ve got to answer a question and give much much more than is needed! What’s the point of training doctors not being short? We can’t tell a patient: “Well, you probably have disease A, but it could also be B, C, D and oh yeah, also E or F, and maybe even G…..”
Oh come on! Stick to the point please!
Now I’ve got a lot of time for the last one : Pathophysiology of the heart and lungs on Thursday.
